Ripple Cowl is a fun-to-knit cowl that has endless color potential! Worked with just one skein of fingering weight yarn, hold two strands together as you work in the round.

Choose a solid colorway to let the ripple effect pop or use self-striping or variegated yarn to create a marled effect. It’s a perfect stash-busting project that you will want to make over and over again.

Ripple Cowl worked in-the-round with yarn held double. It is written for one size and measures to approximately 12” wide x 8.5” tall.

Yarn:

385 - 390 y (352 - 357 m) of fingering weight yarn, divided into two strands of about 190 - 195 yards (173 - 178 m) each. Does not account for yarn needed to take gauge.

Samples shown in: (1) Urth Yarn’s self-striping Uneek Sock (75% extra fine merino, 25% nylon; 440 yards), color 54, and (2) Zauber Perlen by Schoppel-Wolle (fingering weight; 100% virgin merino wool; 440 yards/400 meters) in Soprano #2415.

Tools Needed:

  • US 8 (5.0 mm) 24” circular needle to knit in the round
  • Beginning of the Round Marker
  • Yarn needle to weave in ends
