'Tis the season to be merry! Take a break from the holiday hustle and celebrate with your best yarny friends. Whether you have a regular Knit Night, a weekend Make Together, or a Craft Club, we're offering three fiber-themed party ideas to help you plan the ultimate, fiber-themed holiday get together.
Make the Spirits Bright
Host a cocktail party where the vibe is fiber animal chic! Stock the bar cart with our favorite fiber themed accessories, including Wild Llama Coasters, Llama Wine Charms, and our Knit 1 Sip 1 Koozies. Cheers to a great year of making and friendship while you make some No-Knit Wine Bottle Topper Hats.
Food + Drink: stock up on a few bottles of Sheep Thrills wine and build a goat cheese grazing board.
Project: Have everyone bring a toilet paper roll and some Worsted Weight yarn to make these No-Knit Wine Bottle Topper Hats. They're great for gifting!
Party Favor: Send your group home with a Knit 1 Sip 1 Koozie or a Beer Mug Stitch Marker.
The Holidays are Brewing
If your group is a bunch of early birds, treat yourselves to a coffee bar with all of the creamers, drizzles, and festive flair. Unwind with a cozy cup of Joe as you make Reusable Coffee Cup Sleeves together. These quick-knit accessories make great gifts - just pair with a coffee shop gift card or a bag of beans.
Food + Drink: Brew a pot of Knit Coffee or one of our favorite blends, Dancing Goats. Make these Baked Apple Cider Donuts, which pair perfectly.
Project: To make this coffee date special, have everyone bring a skein of Worsted Weight yarn and some size US 6 needles to knit their own Reusable Coffee Cup Sleeve.
Party Favor: Our Coffee and Donuts Marker Duo is the perfect reminder of your Coffee Crew.
Sweater Weather Cookie Party
Forget celebrating ugly sweaters (is there even such a thing?) and have a Sweater Weather Cookie Party instead. Invite your maker friends over for some sweater shaped sugar cookie decorating and because no party is long enough to knit an adult sweater, make a tiny one instead. Our Sweater on the Elf pattern isn't just for the Elf on the Shelf - you can make them into ornaments, garland, present toppers, or a holiday countdown calendar.
Food + Drink: Sweater shaped sugar cookies, of course (we have these cookie cutters). And major points if you apply the sweater theme to a cake like this one.
Project: Have your guests bring Sport Weight yarn and size US 2.5 needles to make a Sweater on the Elf.
Party Favor: These Stitched With Love tags are a thoughtful gift for any sweater knitter. But, too big to fit inside your tiny sweaters.
Our maker friends are some of our best friends. Make a plan to celebrate with each other in an unexpected and memorable way. Take a break from your usual routine and swap it for something fresh and festive! We'd love to hear how you and your maker friends celebrate over the holidays.
